The
Tucker & Hemphill Porcelain Collection

The Esther Ann McFarland Exhibition Room

The Esther Ann McFarland Exhibition Room features an exceptional collection of Tucker and Hemphill porcelain, among the finest examples of early American porcelain craftsmanship produced in Philadelphia during the 19th century.

Judge Joseph Hemphill partnered with the renowned Tucker porcelain factory to help create a distinctive line of elegant and innovative porcelain wares.

Although the partnership lasted only six years, from 1832 to 1838, Tucker and Hemphill porcelain remains highly regarded for its artistry, refinement, and historical significance.

Today, visitors to Historic Strawberry Mansion can view a remarkable collection of these rare and beautifully preserved pieces within the Exhibition Room.
